World Trail Workshop and Trail Remediation

The boys from World Trail Pty Ltd are in town for the next fortnight and will be working on a 4km section of existing trail in the Sylvia Creek Valley (ie Mt Baldy area). They will be conducting a practical workshop on Saturday, 29 October, see below for more details. The funding for this work has been made available to our club via RLCIP funding through Tablelands Regional Council.

This is the first official trail remediation work that has been approved for this area. We are currently in negotiations with DERM to secure permission to conduct further work in 2012 and beyond. Our plan for 2012 is to remediate the 13km of existing informal track so that it complies with IMBA guidelines and DERM requirements. Before this can happen we need to enter into an agreement with DERM about the ownership and maintenace of these tracks. At the moment we have a permit to work on a defined section of track.
