Where: Begins at the Atherton Swimming Pool (Robert St) at 9:00am - ride to Tolga, Rocky Creek and then return via Palomino Avenue to the pool for a sausage sizzle and coffee around 11:00am. Ride distance approximately 25km, easy to moderate.
Why: Come along and help dedicate this ride to the memory of Lindsay, the victim of a 'hit and run' on 29 April 2012. At the same time we aim to increase the community’s awareness of cyclists and their safety on our local roads.
Quite a few people have asked what Josh Prete is doing during his time living, training and racing in Europe....if you're one of those people you can check his website out at http://joshprete.com and/or follow him on Twitter @joshprete. His team, Whirlpool Author, also have a website and Facebook page - written in Czech so you'll have to translate into English but they usually have good photos and information about the team. At the moment the team are at training camp in Spain just south of Barcelona. Josh's last message home said they had just completed a 7.5 hour training ride of 235km with 3000m of climbing...so clocking up some good kms.
